Seven platforms that let a creator sell from a bio link, what each one actually costs at three different sales volumes, and who each one is genuinely for.
Every platform here is paid for somehow: a percentage of what you sell, or a fixed amount every month. We chose the second — $12, 0% of your sales, charged to your own payment account — Stripe, or MercadoPago in Argentina — so the money never passes through us. Which model costs less is arithmetic, not opinion, and it depends entirely on how much you sell: a percentage is cheaper while you are selling almost nothing, and gets more expensive precisely as you start to succeed.

Best for: Selling more than about $130 a month in digital files, and wanting the customer and the payout to be yours.

Best for: Selling coaching calls, courses or memberships — none of which we support.

Best for: Not having sold anything yet, or wanting tax compliance handled rather than doing it yourself.
Payhip
Free with 5% per sale · $29 per month with 2% · $99 per month with 0%The same shape as Gumroad at half the percentage, with the option to buy the fee down. Also handles EU VAT for you, which is the part worth paying for.
Best for: Selling into the EU and wanting VAT handled without paying Gumroad’s 10%.

Best for: An audience that wants to support you rather than buy a specific thing.

Questions people ask first
Should I just pick whichever is cheapest today?
Careful with that, because the answer changes as you grow and moving later is not free — your storefront URL is tied to whoever hosts it, so every link you have shared breaks. The crossover is lower than it sounds: one $50 sale a week is $200 a month, already past the point where a commission costs more than our subscription. Pick for the volume you expect in a year, not the one you have this week.
Which one is cheapest?
It depends on how much you sell, and any page that answers otherwise is selling you something. Below about $130 a month in sales Gumroad costs you less than our $12 plan, and Payhip does up to about $240. Above those, a flat fee wins and keeps winning: at $1,000 a month, Gumroad’s 10% is $100 and our Starter plan is still $12.
What does "0% commission" leave out?
Payment processing. Stripe takes roughly 2.9% + 30¢ per transaction on every platform in this list, including ours — that is the card networks, not the platform. If you sell in Argentine pesos through MercadoPago, its own processing fee applies instead. When a platform says 0%, it means it takes nothing on top.
Which ones never hold my money?
Ours, and Stan Store. Both charge the buyer on an account of your own — Stan on your Stripe, ours on your Stripe or, in Argentina, your MercadoPago. Linktree, Beacons, Gumroad, Payhip and Ko-fi collect first and pay you out, which is what lets them handle tax and refunds for you — and what puts a payout schedule between you and your income.
Can I use more than one?
Yes, and plenty of people do: a free link page on one platform and the actual products on another. Nothing here is exclusive, and your customer list is exportable from ours whenever you want it.
