Beacons vs Tuqui.store

Beacons is the broadest of the link-in-bio products: store, email marketing, media kit and an income dashboard in one subscription. It also has a free plan that can sell, which we do not. The trade is the same one as everywhere else on this page — you pay either a percentage or a subscription, and Beacons asks for $30 a month before the percentage goes away.

When Beacons is the better choice

  • You are not selling yet and want to start with zero fixed cost — their free plan sells, ours does not.
  • You work with brands and want a media kit and outreach tools in the same product.
  • You want serious email marketing rather than a lead list and the occasional broadcast.

Questions people ask first

Their free plan sells and yours does not. Why?

Because a free plan that sells has to be paid for somehow, and the only way to do it is a cut of your sales. We decided that 0% commission should mean 0% on every plan rather than 0% on the plans that happen to be expensive. The consequence is that our free plan is a page, not a shop.

Can I move without losing my link?

Your storefront URL changes, since it is tied to whichever platform hosts it. What does not change is your payment account, your customer list and your files — you keep all three, because on Tuqui.store they were never ours to begin with. Export your customers as CSV before you leave anywhere.

Who handles sales tax and VAT?

You do. Because buyers pay your own payment account directly, you are the seller of record, which means tax obligations are yours — and if you sell through Stripe, Stripe Tax can automate most of it. Platforms that act as merchant of record (Gumroad, Payhip) handle this for you and charge a percentage for it. If tax compliance is the thing you want to outsource, that trade is a real one and worth taking seriously.
